SCHOLARSHIP
This scholarship was built to honor our late teammate, Stormstris #5, who tragically died in a car accident in March 2026. Storm joined No Coast Roller Derby in 2011 and grew into one of league’s most iconic skaters. She invested immense time and effort into our league, serving as a Mad Maxine captain, NCRD board member, skating and non-skating official, junior coach, and more. Storm always played with unmatched passion, precision, and strategy, and was a powerhouse player loved by fans. No Coast and the greater roller derby community will feel her presence on and off the track for years to come.

ABOUT: Storm was instrumental in teaching and uplifting new skaters, and had a truly unique way of folding them into our League. In her honor, this scholarship program will help skaters acquire the gear needed to skate with No Coast Roller Deby. The scholarship may be used to purchase protective gear (pads, helmet, mouth guard), skates, jerseys, or other items agreed upon by the selected candidate and current NCRD Board of Directors.
HOW IT WORKS: To apply for the Storm 5ever Scholarship, skaters will need to complete an application. The application period will open for a short period following recruitment, which is typically held once per year in fall. The current NCRD Board of Directors will score applications and select one or more skaters to receive the scholarship.
